14th January 2026 Hiking - Walking: Around Felixstowe Wind Direction: Wind Stength: light airs Surf / Sea State: smooth Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny with light airs Max Speed: Distance Covered: Wednesday 13th January - walks *** – Around Felixstowe including picnic on the pier – sunny with light breezes. After getting three pics o the telly weather I two days I was going to have a day off but it was such a lovely day, wall to wall winter sunshine and light airs I decided to have a ride round to get a few pics at 10.15 after clearing the ice from the windscreen. First stop Felixstowe pier where the sea looked like a mill pool before carrying onto the Ferry where I parked near the pub for a walk round the boatyard where once again the Deben looked wonderful! Then it was back to Lidl to help Mag with some shopping and home to sort out my pics. Mag then made a flask of homemade soup and we walked down to the pier to have our picnic with nice views out to sea and shared our rolls with a couple of pigeons:) The scene was still stunning with little wind and sunshine, we then walked to the Beach hut village before turning and heading up through the gardens just past the Town Hall. We then spent the afternoon with our neighbour's putting the world to right over a cuppa and Welsh Cakes. Tomorrow is looking breezy enough to foil but loads of rain so might give that a miss, there has got to be some pleasure I heading out on the water! Photo Album here |
